How About Asking God to Make You Rich

Do you think it is carnal to ask God to make you rich? Is it wrong for a Christian to desire wealth? Or, are you of the opinion that children of God should not talk about money?

From my point of view, it’s not and can never be carnal to ask God for riches.

If you are like me, then some issues about money can keep you up at night. Issues of debt, rent, financial liberty, these things can keep you up at night

What this means is that, these issues cause you to worry and God doesn’t worry.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:7

“All” from the above text means all, including financial worries. If you know this, how about asking God to make you rich?

It’s definitely not out of place for a child of God to ask for wealth.

Why Should You Ask God to Make You Rich?

Because God Himself ask us to ask

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Psalms 2:8

If the president of your country tell you to ask and he will give you any State you of your choice, won’t you be eager to ask with all joy?

Our God is greater than any President. More profound is the fact that he always fulfills his promise.

So, if He say you should ask and you do well to ask, you will be sure to receive. Therefore, go on, ask him whatever riches you want. Remember, He is Almighty! He is unlimited.

Richmom’s prayer:

  • Almighty Father, you say I should ask of you and you shall give me the heathen for an inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for my possession. Dear God, I am still in the red, I still have this pile of debt that has become so much burden. Please provide the money I need to clear up this debt.
  • Secondly, you say you will give me the uttermost parts of the earth for my possession. I am still living in a rented apartment in an uncomfortable neighborhood. Please, give me a house in the choicest part of the town. I know that you can do all things and that no man can stop. Please answer my prayer in Jesus name, Amen.

Let’s proceed.

God is Abundant

“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein.”

Imagine the entire universe and everything in it. The precious stones, mansions, and every other good thing you can think about, they all belong to God.

If God is this abundant, do you think he will hold back any good thing from those he love? There is no good parent that does not want the best for their children.

God gives power to get wealth.

Always remember that it is the LORD your God who gives you power to become rich, and He does it to fulfill his promise to your ancestors. Deut 8:18

Our ancestors were promised riches and wealth. Let’s look at God’s promise to Abraham:

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed. Gen 12:2,3

How do we receive the blessing?

That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the spirit through faith.

Yet, Abraham servant said this about him

The Lord has greatly blessed my master, so that he has become rich; and he has given him flocks and herds and silver and gold, and servants and maids and camels and donkeys.

All the times I have been reading this scriptures, I skimmed over the silver and gold part until today.

What! Like seriously, Abraham was rich in gold and silver. Isn’t that great? If you have Abraham’s blessings, it means you should be rich

And this covenant was passed down to us through Jesus Christ.

More so, Isaac, his son:

Now Isaac sowed in that land, and he reaped in the same way, a hundred fold. And the LORD blessed him, and the man became rich, and continued to grow richer until he became very wealthy.

Friend, God’s wish for you as a daughter of Zion is not just to get rich, but to get richer until you become wealthy.

You have no business, whatsoever, with poverty.

Go on, ask God, ask him for silver, there are all his.

The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the holy ghost

OK, if you’re poor, you can be righteous. You may have some peace, but you’re aren’t going to be exactly joyful with a your rent is due and don’t have the means to pay.

One of God’s desire for the children in his kingdom(you and I) is for them to be happy, or rather, joyful.

If money is the stumbling block that’s preventing you from having your joy to overflowing, then it’s time you asked God already to make you rich.

I don’t shy away from the fact that I desire to be wealthy. No I don’t. Becoming rich and getting wealthy will make a better wife, daughter and granddaughter. It will make me a better friend, sister and citizen.

I have a passion to support God’s project, evangelism with so much fund. But I can only go this far, very limited in my finances.

It’s time for change. Nations should come to your rising(Isaiah 60). It’s time to arise and shine financially.

In Conclusion

Do away with greed. When God answers your prayer(I know he will) don’t forget to be generous.

Give generously to God’s cause, give to your community, support the plight of the poor and vulnerable around you.

Because, at the end of the day, it’s more blessed to give than to receive.
